  • Coconut flour (2 tbsp)
  • Almond flour (5 tbsp)
  • Pesto sauce (2 tbsp)
  • Mozarella (1 cup, shredded)
  • Butter (2 tbsp)
  • Egg (1 whole + 1 egg yolk)
  • Sesame seeds (1 tbsp)
  • Baking powder (1/2 tsp)
  • Salt to taste


Step 1

Start by getting a deep, microwave-safe bowl. Put the shredded mozzarella in the bowl. Then add the butter to the bowl. Add cheese. Melt the cheese and butter together in the microwave.

Step 2

Mix the melted cheese and butter well. Add both flours to it. Then add 1 whole egg, baking soda, and salt. Mix well and knead the mixture until it has a dough texture. Then take it to a clean kitchen counter and roll it out with a rolling pin. Now put 2 tbsp pesto sauce on the dough and spread it well on the upper surface of the dough with the help of a brush.

Preheat the oven.

Oven temperature: 180°C / 356°F

Step 3

Line a baking tray with greaseproof paper. Slice the dough lengthwise at 2cm intervals with a knife. Twist each dough slice lengthwise. Arrange the mozzarella twists on the baking sheet. Now put 1 egg yolk in a small bowl, add 1 tbsp of sesame seeds and mix well. Apply the egg-sesame mixture on the mozzarella sticks with a brush.

Then put the tray in the oven and bake in a controlled manner for 20 minutes.


  • When slicing the dough, approximately 10 slices should come out with these measurements. This recipe serves 5 people, so one serving of mozzarella twist equals to 2 twists.
