Turkish Baked Ground Beef with Vegetables

We brought you a low-carb baked ground beef recipe, one of the stars of Turkish cuisine. Follow the step-by-step recipe and prepare an amazing low-carb dinner in just 40 minutes.

What is Turkish Baked Ground Beef?

Turkish baked ground beef with vegetables is a recipe that everyone is pretty obsessed with it. Ground beef and vegetables are kneaded with extra attention to the vegetable measurements and baked after spreading on the tray.

The best version of it is baked in a wood oven used in some Turkish restaurants. They use a special tray, that is called clay baking tray which is used in wood oven.

Since having these facilities at home is not usually easy, we have brought you a homemade version. Believe me; there is almost no difference between it and the original.

Those who eat this dish will be amazed and surprised that something both low carb and so delicious exists.

Serve it with some salad and cooked rice for those not following a special diet. Pita bread is one of the best accompaniments.

Let’s move on to the step-by-step recipe, and thank us later.

Recipe – 10min prep / 30min baking time

Prepare Ground Beef:

Take the ground beef into a deep mixing bowl.

Add the spices, tomato and pepper paste to it.

Peel the onions and divide them into four equal parts.

Peel the tomato, cut it into two equal parts.

Cut off the stems of the red and green peppers and cut them in half.

Peel the garlic, put the onion, garlic, peppers, tomato, and chopped parsley in a food processor and chop until extra fine.

Add the vegetables you chop in the food processor to the beef.

Tip: Use a small tomato just as written in the ground beef ingredients. If you use larger or more tomatoes to add to the beef, the beef will become watery during baking and will not taste as perfect as we would like.

Finally, add as much salt as you want.

Then knead until all the beef ingredients are combined.

Preheat the Oven: 200°C / 392°F

If possible, prepare a round and wide baking tray.

Spread the kneaded beef on the tray by pressing it a little.

Prepare Sauce:

Add a little less than 1/2 tbsp tomato paste to the little less than 1 cup of water.

Add sunflower oil to the tomato paste water.

Mix well until the water and tomato paste are completely combined.

Pour this tomato paste water evenly over the beef on the tray.

Wash the topping vegetables thoroughly.

Cut the cherry tomatoes in half.

Cut the peppers into 2 or 3 parts.

Place the cherry tomatoes and peppers on the beef.

Put the tray in the oven and bake for 30 minutes.

Recommendation: Bake in a controlled manner, as the baking time will vary according to each oven. Bake until the meat absorbs the water it has.

Tip: If the meat still looks raw at the end of the time, add a little more water and bake for a while.

When it’s ready, let some water remain in the tray, and when serving, take some of this sauce and pour it over the meat.
