Is Almond Milk Paleo? Here are the Facts!

The paleo diet, also known by different names such as the stone-age diet, has become increasingly popular due to recent research.

The diet is a high protein diet that supports the consumption of good fats and low carbohydrates.

Since the wheat and grain derivatives that we consume in abundance naturally contain gluten, it adversely affects the digestive system of the human body.

This causes bloating, abdominal pain, gas and intestinal problems. Considering that milk and dairy products have an important place in our diet, what should those who seek an alternative do?

We have to say with regret that you cannot consume most almond milk on the Paleo diet. But the good news is that you can make almond milk suitable for a paleo diet. Here is the recipe;

When you keep 1 cup of raw cashew or almond in salty water the night before, blend it with 2 cups of water, and filter it, you will have healthy and delicious herbal milk.

You can also consume the remaining almond/cashew pulp like cheese curds by adding lemon, salt and black cumin seed.

The issue with almond milk is that it is processed, and you should avoid all processed foods.

Consuming foods like sausage, salami, packaged fruit juices and biscuits is also strictly prohibited in the paleo diet.

In addition, fruits such as apricots, bananas and peaches that contain too much sugar are not recommended in the paleo diet.

So, What Are The Ideal Foods for Paleo?

Ideal foods in this diet are natural, unprocessed foods. Eggs, fatty red meat, chicken, fish and offal are indispensable for the paleo diet.

In addition, you can consume as many green leafy vegetables as possible and a small number of root vegetables such as celery and carrots.

Along with these, another paleo-friendly food group is healthy fats. Since carbohydrate consumption is minimal, fats are used as energizers in this diet.

Therefore, you can safely use natural oils such as avocado, raw nuts, flax seeds, coconut oil and olive oil in your diet.
