Made with a mixture of powdered whole milk, a few hints of spice and a sweet topping of heavy whipped cream (optional), this hot drink will even serve as a dessert in a cup for a date night or a night with friends.

Ingredients:

1 cup powdered whole milk

1/2 cup Truvia granulated sweetener

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 tsp xanthan gum

1 tbsp ground cinnamon

1t tbsp ancho chili powder or more according to your taste

1/2 cup Heavy whipping cream (topping optional)

Step 1 

In a medium container, mix the powdered milk, the granulated sweetener, unsweetened cocoa powder, ground cinnamon, chili powder and xanthan gum. For this process you can use a whisk and mix until all ingredients are well combined. When done, set aside in a airtight container and place in a dark room until we are ready to use it for our recipe.

Tip: this mixture will serve for additional servings. To store, keep in a airtight container until using it next time.

Step 2

When you are ready to have a glass of hot chocolate, add 2 to 3 tablespoons of the preparation in a microwave safe glass. Continue by filling up your glass with hot water and stir until all is blended.

Step 3

Next, place your glass in the microwave on high for 30 seconds or more if desired . Remove the glass, stir to blend ingredients and enjoy.

Tip: If you wish, instead of adding hot water, you can add cold tap water and microwave the mix on high for 1 – 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds. Both ways result in a yummy heavenly drink!
