Keto chocolate mousse recipe

With the holidays around the corner who has the time to make difficult desserts? Exactly, we’d rather spend that time enjoying our loved ones.

Well, this keto chocolate mousse apart from being sugar-free, gluten-free, keto and paleo-friendly is extremely decadent and thick in so many ways.

Most chocolate mousses require, melting chocolate over water, breaking on eggs, gelatin and countless steps with the result being, ending up tired.

With this keto chocolate mousse, all of that nonsense is avoided with fewer steps and tips to making the best mousse.

In this recipe, you will find all information about this delicious snack. With only 3 ingredients and one of them being protein and healthy fats.

And what does the protein powder do? Well, it serves as a sort of flour which makes our keto chocolate mousse creamy in texture because it sucks up all the liquid.

Frankly, you will see why this is not only a dessert but a treat you can have any time your sweet tooth desires. Because it’s sugar-free and low carb.

In just a few minutes and no fancy equipment, you can whip up the easiest and yummiest treat to share with the family. Now let’s get to it…shall we?

Keto Chocolate Mousse

We can guarantee this keto chocolate mousse dessert is good all by itself, but don’t feel bad if you want to add yummy toppings to it such as strawberries, whipped cream, blueberries or nuts.

All of these pair well with the healthiest and yummiest treat!

Prep Time 19 minutes

Total Time 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 scoops unflavored protein powder

Instructions

Step 1:

In a medium microwave-safe bowl, place your chopped bittersweet chocolate.

Microwave on high for about 1 minute and stir.

Continue to microwave the bittersweet chocolate in a 20-second increment while stirring and the chocolate has melted completely.

Once done, let it cool completely.

Step 2:

In a separate medium bowl, add your heavy cream and mix it on medium speed using a hand electric mixer until the cream peaks form.

Warm heavy cream will deflate the bubbles and not give our keto chocolate mousse the texture it needs.

Step 3:

Proceed by adding your unflavored protein powder and continue mixing on medium speed until the mixture peaks form.

Step 4:

Continue by folding in your melted chocolate using a spatula from the bottom to the top slowly until all is combined.

Step 5:

Divide your Keto Chocolate mousse into your small dessert dishes, ramekins or glasses.

Cover each of them with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator until the keto chocolate mousse is set. Should take about 1 to 2 hours.

Notes

  • When using heavy cream, ensure it is as cold and fresh as possible and not warm.
  • Fold the melted chocolate using a spatula from the bottom to the top. Do not stir the chocolate with our mousse because that will result in a deflated mousse. This should be a slow process.
  • Don’t forget when storing your keto chocolate mousse it should be covered with plastic wrap.
  • It should be consumed within 2 days to avoid the keto chocolate mousse deflating. Although we doubt this will be an issue when making this fluffy, rich chocolatey dessert.
