Egg (1, medium)

Breadcrumbs (3 tbsp)

Carrot (2 medium, grated)

Dill (1-3 sprigs, optional)

Cumin (1 tsp)

Paprika (1/2 tsp)

Salt and pepper to taste

To Fry

Sunflower oil (1 1/2 cups)

Recipe – 15min prep / 20min cooking time

Divide the cabbage into four equal parts.

Take 1 part and chop finely, wash, drain well, and keep aside.

Chop the dill and add it to the cabbage.

Sprinkle 1/2 tsp of salt on the cabbage and dill.

Leave it like that for a while.

During this time, grate the carrots and keep them aside.

Cabbages and dill will be a little watery. Squeeze this water with your hands.

Then add the carrots on top of them.

Add the egg and all the seasonings.

Recommendation: The best spice of cabbage is cumin. Don’t cut it from the recipe list; if you’re a cumin lover, feel free to use it in abundance.

Finally, add the flour and knead well.

Tip: You can add whole wheat flour instead of all-purpose flour or mix these two flour.

After kneading well, break off meatball-sized pieces with your hands and shape them.

Preheat a deep frying pan while shaping the meatballs.

Add sunflower oil to the heated pan and let the oil heat well.

Dip meatballs in breadcrumbs.

Then fry them.

Take care not to move the meatballs too much, especially in the early stages of frying, so they don’t fall apart.

Service Suggestion

Use a large serving platter.

Place a dipping sauce bowl in the middle of this plate.

Add whipped yogurt or your favorite dip to the bowl.

Arrange fried cabbage meatballs around this dipping sauce bowl.
