Time to dig in!

The Easiest Low Carb Appetizer

This recipe is a game-changer for impressing your guests with something fancy when you don’t have time to add an hour-long side dish to your menu. You will stay on track with any kind of diet while falling in love with what you eat.

I love this appetizer because it’s tasty and suitable for almost all diets and gives my dinner table a solid old-money vibe.

Before we dive into the recipe, I would like to mention a few ingredients that are worth paying attention to. If you are careful about what kind of ingredients you pick, you can completely change the whole recipe. Let’s learn more about them:

Why Does Choosing the Right Ingredients for Olive Me Nuts Matter?

When ingredients look good, anything you prepare will look good too. When ingredients are fresh and tasty, anything you prepare will taste good too. Being in the kitchen and leaving it like a champ is all about this.

Any black olives should work, but I always try to buy charming green olives. They don’t have to be farm fresh or something special, but they become perfect when you buy small-sized green olives instead of more oversized, pickled, salted, or stuffed ones. And hey! The same goes for the parsley! You don’t have to pick them from the soil, but choosing the good-looking ones is essential.

Get ready for the second trick! I have tried every version of it. This trick is optional, but I love it when it rests in the fridge for 30 minutes before I shape it. If you have time to keep it in the fridge, it will be easier to shape and more refreshing and cool.

Let me give you one last trick about this beauty. Olive oil will be the final touch for this appetizer. Mediterranean blend olive oils are the best option, but it is totally fine if you can’t find them and use the regular one. Also, using olive oils for cooking wouldn’t be the best option.

So let’s grab the ingredients, head to the kitchen and leave in 10-15 minutes with a heaven.

This is how your mixture should look after you pulse it. If you crush it too much, it can be a little bit juicy, and if you don’t pulse it properly, it can be hard to shape. This is how it should look:

What are the Pros and Cons of Eating This?

I want to start with the cons. The only con would be extra pounds if you like to keep them, because you will lose them by eating healthy and light.

It is a nutrient-packed recipe. Walnuts provide healthy fats, help fight inflammation, protect your heart, and boost brain health.

On the other hand, green olives will glow your skin, help improve gut health, and help with digestion, while black olives support your eyes and bone strength.

Perfect Pairings for Olive me Nuts

If it fits your current diet, a glass of dry red wine is always my top suggestion for this appetizer. Pita or toasted baguette breads also enhance the flavor and make it extra filling. I also love serving beef salami slices with this menu.

Any kind of other side dish or main meal goes well with this low carb appetizer. Steak or grilled chicken would also be the perfect pairing.

Bottom Line

After you try my favorite low carb appetizer please feel free to share your ideas with me. And please let me know if you made any additions or you used your creativity to improve the recipe.
