Ingredients

Prepare the chicken

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves (chopped)
  • 1/2 tbsp. paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For Fried Chickpeas

  • 6 oz. chickpea
  • 1/2 tbsp. hot paprika
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tbsp. cumin

For Tahini Sauce Topping

  • 3 1/2 oz. tahini
  • 1/2 lemon's juic
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 garlic clove (crushed)
  • 1/2 tbsp. cumin
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Here's the step-by-step process for preparing the chicken chickpea recipe:
  2. Cut the chicken breasts into medium but long cuts. Preheat a large, non-stick, deep skillet. Add 1 tbsp olive oil to the preheated pan, then add the chicken breasts. Cook until the chicken releases water and absorbs it again. Once the chicken breasts have absorbed all the water, add chopped garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika. Continue stirring and frying until the chicken is browned. Turn off the stove and set the chicken aside.
  3. Preheat a clean skillet and transfer the boiled chickpeas to it. Add paprika, salt, and cumin. Fry, stirring gently, until the chickpeas are combined with the spices. Turn off the stove and set the spicy chickpeas aside.
  4. Now, prepare the tahini sauce topping. In a medium bowl, mix the whole tahini with 1 tbsp olive oil, cumin, crushed or grated garlic clove, juice of half a lemon, and salt. Mix until all the ingredients are well combined.
  5. To assemble the dish, get a deep, wide serving plate. Arrange the fried chicken breasts at the bottom of the plate. Sprinkle crispy chickpeas over the chicken. Pour the tahini sauce evenly over the fried chicken breast and chickpeas.
  6. Chop some scallions and sprinkle them on top of the plate.

Enjoy your delicious and healthy chicken chickpea dish while it’s still hot! Bon appétit!

Notes

Optionally, you can add 1 tsp olive oil to the skillet before adding the chickpeas.

While cooking the chicken, remember to stir occasionally, but not too often, to ensure even cooking and browning.
