What is the Mayo Clinic diet? It is a diet program that can help you lose up to 52 lbs in 2 months. If you want to lose healthy and excess weight in a very short time, this diet is just for you.
What Is The Mayo Clinic Diet Meal Plan?
The Mayo Clinic diet program is a diet for weight loss. It allows for losing 13-22 lbs in the first 2 weeks, followed by 2.20 lbs per week until reaching the target weight.
It creates radical changes in eating habits and nutrition, planned according to the Mayo Clinic’s food pyramid.
This diet consists of two parts: Lose and Live. The first stage is the ”lose” stage. It covers the first 2 weeks. There is no calorie count.
You can eat as much fruit and vegetables as you want. At this stage, the day starts with 30 minutes of physical activity. Then it is followed by a breakfast with many vegetables and fruits.
Eating in front of the TV, sweets (except fruit), anything made with sugar, snacks, too much meat consumption, fatty milk and dairy products, and going out for dinner is prohibited.
Again, 30 minutes of exercise on an empty stomach in the evening and at least 60 minutes per day should be done.
The second stage is the ”live” stage. It starts after 2 weeks and continues until the target is reached. In this stage, calories are calculated. We do this calculation in order not to gain the weight lost.
At this stage, there will be no limit to any food group. When calculating the daily need for calories, a calorie limit under maintenance should be calculated, and meals should be planned accordingly.
For example, on a 1400 calorie diet, you can eat 4 times a day or even more fruits and vegetables if you wish.
You can take 4-5 portions of carbohydrate, fat or protein and 3-4 portions of milk and dairy products.
What the serving means here: fruits will be the size of a tennis ball, foods containing carbohydrates or proteins will be the size of a deck of cards, and no sauce. At this stage, it will be enough to do a regular physical activity without forcing yourself.

Just be sure to eat everything specified in the diet because it is this particular nutrient mixture that burns the fat. It is grapefruit that initiates the fat-burning process.
Cut down on the coffee. Coffee affects the insulin balance and prevents the burning process.
Try to limit it to one cup at mealtime. Do not eat between meals.
If you eat all the foods on the list, you will find that you are not hungry.
