Our low-carb section covers ketogenic, Atkins, Dukan, and moderate low-carb approaches, typically holding net carbs between 20 and 100 g per day. Plans run from 1,000 to 2,000 kcal, with dedicated builds for weight loss, budget cooking, and higher-protein maintenance.

Every plan is macro-balanced, protein at 1.2 to 1.6 g/kg body weight for active readers, fat filling the remaining energy, carbs kept below the daily net-carb ceiling for each phase. Nutrition data is calculated per meal against the Nutritionix database and USDA references. Recipe cards flag the nutrients most likely to shift on low-carb eating: sodium (higher losses in the first two weeks), potassium and magnesium from leafy greens, fiber from non-starchy vegetables and seeds, and B vitamins from eggs, meat, and dairy.

Low-carb plans are written or reviewed by a Registered Dietitian on our team, Brenda Peralta, Kerly Cordova, Marita Radloff, or Karolina Peterova, and medically reviewed by Franco Cuevas, MD. Recipes are developed and tested by our Food Editor Damla Sengul in our Wayne, NJ kitchen. If a macro on a recipe card does not add up, tell us at social@dietsmealplan.com.
