About this collection
Our 1,200-calorie meal plan section is built for controlled weight loss in adult women and smaller-framed adults where an aggressive but sustainable deficit fits. Sub-plans cover 1,200-calorie high-protein low-carb, vegetarian, vegan, Atkins-compatible, women-specific, and pre-bariatric surgery menus, each with a full week of meals, gram weights, and printable PDF.
Every plan is built and re-checked in Nutritionix against USDA references so day totals land within 1,180 to 1,220 kcal. Protein is held at 90 to 120 g/day (roughly 1.2 to 1.6 g/kg for a 70 kg reader) to protect lean mass, fiber at 25 to 30 g, and fat at 35 to 45 g. Because 1,200 kcal is a floor for micronutrient adequacy, we flag iron, calcium, vitamin D, B12, and omega-3, and recommend a basic multivitamin for anyone staying on the plan longer than eight weeks.
Plans are written or reviewed by a Registered Dietitian on our team, Brenda Peralta, Kerly Cordova, Marita Radloff, or Karolina Peterova, with medical review from Franco Cuevas, MD. The pre-bariatric plan is meant to be run under your surgeon's supervision. Recipes are tested by Food Editor Damla Sengul in our Wayne, NJ kitchen. Corrections: social@dietsmealplan.com.
