About this collection

The Carnivore Diet section covers the animal-only eating pattern popularized by Shawn Baker: beef, lamb, pork, poultry, fish, eggs, and (for lion-diet variants) beef, salt, and water only. Menus are built in Nutritionix against USDA values so each day lands at roughly 1,200 to 2,500 kcal with protein at 1.2 to 2.0 g/kg body weight and fat covering the rest; carbs are effectively zero. Because plant foods are absent, we track vitamin C (organ meats and lightly cooked cuts help), calcium (bone-in fish, dairy where tolerated), magnesium, potassium, and fiber (there is not any, so we address transit changes directly). We flag LDL response, gout risk, and the two-to-four-week adaptation window.

Given the restrictive profile, every plan is reviewed by a Registered Dietitian on our team, Brenda Peralta, Kerly Cordova, Marita Radloff, or Karolina Peterova, and medically reviewed by Franco Cuevas, MD. Meat cookery is handled by Food Editor Damla Sengul in our Wayne, NJ kitchen. Tell us at social@dietsmealplan.com if a claim reads off.
