To prepare cabbage soup, remove the hard root from the cabbage and cut it in half. Wash it thoroughly in plenty of water and drain off the excess water. Finely chop it with the aid of a sharp knife.
Cut the peeled onion into small cubes and grate the carrot using the large side of a grater. Finely chop the dill to add to the soup later.
Heat the olive oil and butter in a deep saucepan. Sauté the chopped onions until they become translucent.
Add the flour and hot pepper paste, and fry for a short time over low heat.
Once the smell of the flour is noticeable, gradually mix in the hot chicken broth until the mixture achieves a smooth consistency.
