You can also change or replace the ingredients with your preferred ones during preparation. In doing so, you must maintain the original ingredients' nutritional value and calorie content.
2 large red bell peppers, halved (any color works)
8 oz (225 g) ground beef
1/4cupsalsa
2tbspsour cream
1/2 cup (55 g) shredded cheddar cheese
1tbsphomemade taco seasoning
Instructions
Gather all the ingredients while preheating the oven to 350 degrees F. Thoroughly wash the bell peppers, then cut them into thin slices, making sure to remove the seeds.
Place the sliced bell peppers in a microwave-safe dish with ¼ cup of water. Microwave them for 10 minutes or until the bell peppers reach the desired softness.
Meanwhile, slice and cook the ground beef with taco seasoning until perfectly cooked. Then, incorporate the sour cream, salsa, and cheddar cheese into the meat. Conduct a taste test to ensure the spiciness and tenderness are to your liking.
You can add your preferred sauce or condiments at this stage, considering the calorie count.
Prepare a baking dish with some non-stick spray. Place the cooked peppers on the dish and stuff them with the cooked meat mixture from the pan. Once all the peppers are stuffed, sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top.
Bake the stuffed peppers for 30 minutes or until the cheese melts beautifully on the surface. Remove from the oven and serve hot, accompanied by sauce, dip, or your choice of toppings.
